I am so so so overjoyed and honored to be on the amazing vendor team that served Ashley and Tommy on their wedding day! The wedding was held at my FAVORITE mountain venue: Old Edwards Inn. They have the cutest farmhouse on site with a tricked out beauty room for prepping the VIPs for the day. There’s plenty of outlets, mirrors, and even the height adjustable salon chairs! The rest of the house is so chic; there’s lots of french country inspired decor with a wood burning fireplace and plush couches for everyone to relax on. Speaking of which, I had a couple of my best pals with me that day: Crystal and Corie from Atlanta! They’re both highly respected artists in their own right and graciously agreed to be my right hands that day!
Here’s some TEA on Ashley’s Bridal Hair and Makeup:
Doesn’t Ashley have the most beautiful blue eyes ever!? She’s an equestrian by trade and usually wears little to no makeup. So we kept the focus on the lashes, since she does wear mascara. I used a STRIP MINK LASH by Ardell. Her eyes can do all the talkin while her lips do all the smoochin!
Our beautiful bride spends a lot of time outside so I wanted to celebrate healthy glow and add definition to her beautiful face. For normal to dry skin types I absolutely love FACE ATELIER foundation. They’re a brand out of Canada. I did a little spot concealing with my airbrush gun since I had it handy. Pssssst….did you know that I’m a certified airbrush makeup artist?
For lips we kept it neutral nude! Since the eyes are the prize, we didn’t want a color that competed with the eyes.
HAIR!!! Isn’t her hair amazing? She has all of it. We designed this half up but brought the hair to the side, revealing the showstopping detail on the back of her dress. Humans with hair: you do not have to do an updo for the wedding day! I think it’s so important to for your wedding style to have elements from your every day style. So if you’re a hair down person, wear your hair down. For the bridesmaids, we did whatever they wanted! My girl Corie is so NICE with the updos. Crystal is also a trained airbrush makeup artist which provided the most flawless finish.
OMG so, the coolest part about all getting ready with Ashley and her gals: I got to be Lady in Waiting!!! Ashley got married in June. Even in the mountains it’s a little steamy. Plus photos began around 2 or 3, if I remember correctly. It’s hot y’all. After I helped Ashley to her First Look, I stood by with her bouquet and my handy dandy toolbelt in case of any emergencies. Long hair can get snagged on lace sometimes. I was able to adjust hair, veils, trains, or anything else that may be affected by the elements. At 90 degrees and humidity, anyone can get a little extra shiny. Some people even sweat. I was on hand to blot and powder all of that away so that every single image you get from your fabulous photographer is PER.FEC.TION. When the weather is more mild, you may just want me as your Lady in Waiting for extra special treatment and attention to detail. But for the hot summer weddings, it’s almost a neccesity.
